A 13-CHAPTER EBOOK

The first three months are not a test you can pass.
They are a passage you can survive.

A calm, plainspoken ebook for the first twelve weeks after birth. No ideology. No guilt. No pretending it's the most magical time of your life.

"I wrote it for the woman who has read eleven contradictory things online at 3 a.m. and is not sure which one of them is true."

WHAT THIS BOOK IS

A friend in book form for the season everyone warned you about but no one prepared you for.

What it is not

Not a parenting method. Not a sleep-training program. Not a breastfeeding manifesto. Not a list of things you are doing wrong.

What it is

A short, honest guide to the first twelve weeks. What is normal. What is not. What to do in the next ten minutes when the baby will not stop crying and you are not sure you can do this.

It treats breastfeeding and formula feeding as equally valid. It does not tell you to enjoy every moment. It tells you how to get through the moment you are in.

WHAT IS INSIDE

Thirteen chapters. One steady voice.

Every chapter is short. You can read one in a single feed. Nothing requires you to be in a particular mood.

I.A note before we begin

What the first three months really are — biologically, emotionally, practically. The honest version, not the Instagram one.

II.The first 48 hours

What the baby is doing versus what your body is doing. How to handle the parade of visitors without losing your mind.

III.Sleep

Why newborn sleep has no fix yet. Day/night confusion, the current safe-sleep rules (back to sleep, empty crib, firm flat surface, room-share not bed-share, pacifier), and taking shifts with a partner.

IV.Feeding

Breastfeeding honestly — latch, when it gets easier around weeks 3–4, when a lactation consultant is worth the money. Formula, without apology. Bottle, burping, pumping, storing milk.

V.Crying, colic and soothing

The 5 S's, in the right order. What colic actually is and when it ends. And what to do, in the moment, when you feel at the end of your rope — put the baby down somewhere safe, walk away, the crying will not hurt them, shaking will.

VI.Diapers, baths and daily care

Newborn diaper counts, cord stump care, safe bathing, nails, ears, nose, dressing for the weather, and the car-seat basics that matter most.

VII.Healing your body

Recovery after a vaginal birth and after a C-section. Postpartum bleeding — what is normal, what needs a call. Pelvic floor work and walking.

VIII.Your mind

Baby blues versus postpartum depression and anxiety. How to tell them apart. The signs to take seriously. Where to get help.

IX.Asking for and accepting help

How to ask for specific help instead of "we're fine, thanks." Meals, outsourced help, and how to talk to your partner when you can barely form a sentence.

X.Red flags

When to call the doctor about the baby, and when to call about yourself. Two plain checklists, one for each of you.

XI.A tiny self-care plan

Plus an honest list of things she does not have to do yet. The list is longer than you think.

XII.The pocket cheat sheet

A table of what is normal at 0–2 weeks, 2–6 weeks and 6–12 weeks, and a daily checklist you can stick on the fridge.

XIII.You made it through

A short closing note, for the woman who started this book nine or ten weeks ago and is now, quietly, on the other side.

53 pages. Plain language. No upsell at the end of each chapter.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Read this if any of these sound like you.

· You are pregnant, and you want one realistic thing to read, not seventeen.

· You brought the baby home in the last few weeks, and the first advice round of visitors has already been too much.

· You are feeding the baby in some combination of breast, bottle and formula and you are tired of being asked which one is "really" right.

· You have searched "is it normal that my newborn" at 2 a.m. and did not feel better afterward.

· You are the partner, and you want to understand what is actually going on with her — not just the baby.

· You are a new mom again, with a toddler in the next room, and you remember nothing.

THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING

Quiet answers to loud worries.

I'm not sure I have time to read a whole book right now.

You don't. The chapters are short. Chapter 10 — when to call the doctor — is two pages. The cheat sheet in Chapter 12 is one page. You can use the book as a reference instead of reading it cover to cover, and the table of contents is built for that.

I am breastfeeding / I am formula feeding. Will this book be on one side?

No. The book treats them as equally valid. Chapter 4 covers breastfeeding honestly — latch, when it gets easier, when a lactation consultant is worth the money — and then it covers formula, bottles, burping, pumping and storing milk in the same chapter, without ranking them.

I had a C-section. Is the recovery section going to be useful to me?

Chapter 7 has a separate section for C-section recovery alongside the vaginal-birth section, with the bleeding, incision and movement guidance that is specific to each. Pelvic floor and walking are covered for both.

What if my situation isn't in the book?

The book does not pretend to be a medical manual. It is honest about what it can and cannot tell you. Chapter 10 — the red-flag chapter — is built around the principle that when something is outside the book's reach, it tells you who to call and when, instead of guessing.

Will it tell me to enjoy every moment?

No. Chapter 1 says, on the first page, that the first three months are not a test you can pass, and that the book is written to help you survive them, not to help you optimize them. Chapter 11 has a longer list of things you do not have to do yet than things you do.

Is this just a sleep-training book in disguise?

No. Chapter 3 says clearly that newborn sleep has no fix yet, and the safe-sleep section in that chapter is the current guidance — back to sleep, empty crib, firm flat surface, room-share, pacifier — without a method attached to it.

A FINAL NOTE

You are not behind. You are not failing. You are in the middle of something hard.

This book will not turn you into a different kind of mother. It will not give your baby a different temperament. It will, quietly, answer most of the questions you are typing into your phone at 2 a.m., and tell you which ones are worth a call to the doctor instead.

That is all a survival guide is for. To be the book on the nightstand that is not trying to sell you a method.
